Koalab glossary
Koalab's words, one line each.
Each word always means the same thing in the app, in the emails and in these tutorials. If a screen says something different, write to us from “Support”.
- Alert
- A rule that stops a suspicious change before it is applied, such as a sale price above the regular price or a sharp price drop. What it stops waits in “Pending approval”.
- Batch
- A group of changes Koalab applies at once: an uploaded list, a bulk upload, a quick action or a set of approved changes. Each batch can be reverted whole.
- Bulk upload
- The sheet with your whole catalog: you download it, edit it and upload it again to change many products at once.
- Channel
- Each place where you sell and that you connect to Koalab: your own store (WooCommerce, Shopify, Tiendanube) or a marketplace (Mercado Libre). Two stores on the same platform are two channels.
- Channel events (webhooks)
- What a channel sends Koalab on its own when something changes there: a sale, an edit, new stock. Thanks to them Koalab finds out within minutes, without asking.
- Channel role
- How changes flow for each channel: “This channel leads” (its changes enter Koalab and reach the rest), “Receives from Koalab” (it gets what changes in the catalog) or “Independent” (it has its own catalog).
- Data quality
- The review of your catalog that looks for repeated or empty SKUs, prices at zero and whatever blocks publishing, with a grade from 0 to 100.
- Direct batch to a channel
- A batch written to a single channel without going through the catalog, such as the fix you launch from “Data quality”. These are the ones that count toward your plan's direct batch cap.
- Import
- Bringing into Koalab the products that are already on a channel. What it recognizes by SKU is joined; the rest waits in “Unmatched”.
- Independent catalog
- The catalog of a channel with the “Independent” role: its products, prices and stock don't mix with those of the shared catalog.
- Koalab plugin
- An optional add-on for WooCommerce that sends your changes in seconds instead of minutes.
- Link
- The tie between a product in your catalog and its listing on a channel. With the link, a change in Koalab knows where to go.
- Movements
- The history of every price, sale price and stock change on your channels, with its origin: you, a source, the channel or a quick action.
- Notifications
- The bell at the top right: what needs your attention inside Koalab. What reaches your email is set in “Your profile” → “Notifications”.
- Pause
- A paused channel gets no changes from Koalab except one: its stock goes down when you sell on another channel. Its sales do reach your catalog; anything else that changes on it waits in “Pending approval” until you resume it.
- Pending approval
- The tray of changes Koalab didn't apply on its own: they came from a channel that doesn't lead or they tripped an alert. You decide whether they are applied or discarded.
- Price rule
- An adjustment each channel applies to the catalog price when it receives it: a markup, rounding or a price from cost.
- Publish
- Creating a product on a channel for the first time. After that, its changes are sent to your channels on their own.
- Quick action
- A one-step change to a whole catalog, such as “Clear sale prices” or “Recalculate from cost”. It's on “Home” and can be reverted.
- Regular price
- The product's price without a sale price.
- Restock
- The list of products that are running out of stock, based on what you sell.
- Revert
- Undoing a whole batch. Stock only undoes what the batch moved, so later sales are kept.
- Sale price
- The discounted price that lives alongside the regular price. If you remove it, the product goes back to its regular price.
- Scheduled uploads
- Reviewed lists that will apply on their own at the time you chose. Until then you can reschedule or cancel them.
- Send to your channels
- Taking the catalog's changes to your channels. It happens on its own, within minutes, after each change.
- Shared catalog
- The products your channels share: what you change in Koalab, or on the channel that leads, reaches all of them.
- SKU
- The unique code of each product or variant. It's what Koalab uses to recognize the same product on all your channels.
- Source
- A list Koalab reads on its own on a schedule, such as your supplier's Google sheet or a file at a link.
- Stock
- The units available of a product or variant.
- Unmatched
- Products from a channel that Koalab couldn't join to one in your catalog, for example because their SKU doesn't exist or is repeated. You decide whether they are new or which one is theirs.
- Upload a list
- Changing prices, sale prices and stock by uploading an Excel or CSV file: you review it row by row before applying it.
- Variant
- Each combination of a product with options, such as size M in black. It has its own SKU, price and stock.
