Connect Mercado Libre

Authorization with your seller account and choice of country.

Mercado Libre doesn't use keys: you authorize with your seller account and Mercado Libre gives Koalab a permission that renews itself. The country matters because each market (Argentina, Brazil, Mexico…) is a different site.

  1. Open Channels and choose Mercado Libre

Click “Connect a channel”. Mercado Libre is among the marketplaces; if you already have an account connected, the card says in which markets. Connecting is for the owner or an admin: with another role, “Connect a channel” is off.

  2. Choose the account's country

The field is called “Account country”. If Koalab knows where you're connecting from, it leaves it chosen and says “We suggest … from your location”: make sure it's your seller account's country before going on. If it doesn't know, the field stays empty and the button doesn't turn on until you choose one. Markets where you already have an account show as “already connected”, but you can choose them to connect another account from that country.

  3. Authorize in Mercado Libre

Before you leave, Koalab reminds you it never sees your password: it gets a permission you can withdraw whenever you want. Click “Authorize my Mercado Libre account”, sign in with your seller account and accept. The account that gets connected is the one logged in on that browser: if another one is open (your buyer account, say), log out first. Do it all in the same browser and in one go: after 15 minutes you have to start over.

  4. You come back to Koalab automatically

When you return you see the confirmation —or the error, if something failed— and the channel in the list, with the seller account, the country and its code, and “authorization valid, renews itself”. If the account sells in another currency than your organization, the channel isn't created and the notice offers “Connect as an independent catalog”; if Koalab can't read the currency, wait a few minutes and connect again. Connecting doesn't bring in your listings: go to Products and click “Import”. Koalab matches each listing to your product by its SKU, including those with sizes or colors.

  5. Choose the channel's role

At the end Koalab asks “What role does this channel play?”. With “Receives from Koalab” (or “Not now”, which leaves it like that in the meantime), connecting changes no price, but your first price change in Koalab replaces Mercado Libre's. If you charge more there because of the fee, first switch on a “Markup” in Channels → “Configure” → “Price rules” (from the Starter plan). A Mercado Libre price different from your catalog's waits in “Pending approval”: approving it changes it on all your channels, and the screen warns you. Don't choose “Independent” just for prices: it shares no stock with your other channels.

Details worth knowing

  • The permission renews itself. If the seller changes the password or revokes the app, you'll need to reauthorize. And on Mercado Libre a sale price is a Mercado Libre promotion, not a product field.
  • You can connect accounts from several countries: each one is a separate channel, with its own role. But your organization works in a single currency: an account from a country with another currency only comes in as an independent catalog.
  • If you reauthorize the same account —with “Reauthorize”, in the channel's settings—, Koalab renews the channel you already had: it keeps its role, its links and its history, and doesn't take another slot in your plan.
