Your account
Signing up, signing in with Google, verifying your email, your password, open sessions and email notices.
The account is you, not the organization: you sign in with it, and what you set in “Your profile” —password, sessions and email notices— is yours, whichever organization you're working in.
Creating the account
In “Create an account”: first name, last name, email and a password of at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number, typed twice. “Create my account” starts your 7-day trial of the Professional plan, with your personal organization already created, and takes you to the welcome screen.
Signing in with Google
“Continue with Google” is in “Sign in” and in “Create an account”. If you already had an account with that email, Google joins it and you get an email letting you know. An account created with Google has no password: in “Your profile” → “How you sign in”, “Create password” lets you also sign in with your email.
Verifying your email
When you sign up you get a link valid for 48 hours; opening it confirms the address. Until then, a notice at the top offers “Resend email”, which sends a new link and cancels the previous one. Without verifying it you can't invite anyone, or see, accept or decline invitations sent to you. If you sign in with Google, the email is verified on its own.
If you forgot your password
In “Sign in”, “Forgot it?”: you type your email and “Send me the link”. The link works once and expires in an hour; if it expired, the same screen lets you ask for another. When you save the new password all your sessions close, you sign in again with it and you get an email confirming the change.
Changing your password
“Your profile” → “How you sign in” → “Change password”: the current one and the new one twice. Your sessions on other devices close; the one you're using stays open. You get an email with the date and time: if it wasn't you, its button takes you to reset the password.
Open sessions
“Your profile” → “Open sessions” lists each device with its browser, its last activity and the start of its IP; the one you're using shows “this one”. “Close” ends one and “Close the other”, all but yours. The other device can no longer sign in when it renews its access: fifteen minutes at most.
Mock-up: “Open sessions” with the current device and two others Email notices
“Your profile” → “Notifications”: one row per kind of notice and, in “Email”, how often it reaches you: “Immediate”, “Daily summary”, “Weekly summary” or “No”. Summaries arrive at 7:00, your organization's time: the daily one every morning and the weekly one on Mondays. The “Bell” column marks the ones that also show in the bell at the top, the ones that ask something of you: changes waiting for approval, rejected listings, low or out-of-stock, failed uploads, Sources and imports, and “An import you asked for finished”, which is only for whoever clicked “Import”. “No” takes them off email and off the bell.
Details worth knowing
- The email you sign in with isn't changed from your profile: you ask by writing to us. Deleting the whole account doesn't exist yet, and is also requested through support.
- If someone signed up with your email without verifying it and then you sign in with Google, the account is in your hands: the password that was there is deleted, its sessions close and whoever that account had invited is removed from your organizations. The linked-Google-account email tells you so and offers to create a password.
- The interface language also belongs to the account: “Your profile” → “Interface language”. The language of your listings is something else, set by each organization.
- Koalab writes to you when you sign in from a browser or network you hadn't used in the last 90 days, with a link to “Open sessions” to close it. And if you don't verify your email, it reminds you the next day and after 3 days, with a new link.
