Emergency on a channel: pause and reactivate

Take the stock or the sale prices off ONE channel in trouble, without touching the others.

If a channel has a serious problem (a hacked account, a legal problem, a serious mistake), you can zero its stock or remove its sale prices for that channel ONLY. Your catalog and your other channels don't change, and that channel stays paused until you decide.

  1. Launch the action on the channel

Quick actions → “Which catalog” → “One particular channel” → the channel. There only “Clear sale prices” and “Zero the inventory” act; the other two are dimmed. The amber sentence says what will happen before you confirm. On Mercado Libre, “Clear sale prices” is disabled, because the sale is a seller campaign: use “Zero the inventory”.

  2. Decide what to do with the pause

When it finishes, the window doesn't close: it says the channel is paused and offers “Reactivate and resync” or “Leave it paused”. The admins and the owner with access to the channel get an email; if the channel was the leading one, the notice is that it stopped leading.

  3. What the pause freezes

While paused, Koalab writes nothing to it except one thing: it lowers its stock when you sell on another channel, so it doesn't sell what you no longer have. Its sales do reach your catalog. Anything else someone changes there by hand waits for you in “Pending approval”.

  4. If it was the leading channel

It stops leading at once: a channel in trouble can't decide everyone's prices. Koalab decides again, and owners and admins get the notice. Reactivating it doesn't give it back the lead: choose it again as “This channel leads” in Channels or in Organization → “Inventory”.

  5. Reactivate = resume + resync

In the window it is “Reactivate and resync”; in the channel's settings, “Resume channel”. The pause is lifted and Koalab sends it price, sale price and stock of what is listed, plus the name, photos and description of whatever changed during the pause: the emergency takedown is undone. If the delivery doesn't get through, the channel stays paused and tells you; if it gets through partly, it says how many were missing, and you retry them with “Retry what failed”.

  6. Pausing without an emergency

You can also pause it without taking anything down: in the channel's settings, “Pause channel”. It freezes the same, without writing anything first. It's useful for maintenance, and sales on your other channels keep lowering its stock.

Details worth knowing

  • The pause shows everywhere: “Paused” in the channel list and on each product's page, and “paused” on the dashboard and in the quick actions selector.
  • If the emergency action partly fails, the pause stays on anyway: the channel still has its problem and the pause protects it. The window says on how many products it couldn't write and why, and “See each product and its reason” shows them one by one. What Koalab wrote during the emergency doesn't come back as a channel change in “Pending approval”.
  • The emergency takedown doesn't stay in “Revert a batch”: it was written straight to the channel, not to your catalog. To undo it, reactivate the channel.
