Connect Tiendanube
Authorization with your account, no keys or domain.
Tiendanube asks for no keys or domain: you authorize from your account and choose right there which store you connect. From then on the store tells Koalab about every change —orders included— instead of Koalab asking every so often.
Open Channels and choose Tiendanube
It's among your own stores. It asks for no domain or keys: you choose the store on Tiendanube's screen. Click “Authorize my Tiendanube account”. Connecting is for the owner or an admin: with another role, “Connect a channel” is off.
Authorize and review the permissions
It takes you to Tiendanube's screen. Log in and, if you manage several stores, choose which one you connect. Koalab asks to read and write products and to read orders: without orders it can't tell a sale from a stock change made by hand.
Mock-up: Tiendanube's authorization screen with the list of permissions You come back to Koalab automatically
When you return you see the confirmation —or the error, if something failed— and the channel in the list. Koalab subscribes the store to its notifications right then, with nothing for you to set up. If the store works in another currency than your organization, it isn't created and the notice offers “Connect as an independent catalog”. If Koalab can't read the currency, wait a few minutes and connect again.
Choose the channel's role
“Receives from Koalab”, “This channel leads” or “Independent”, as with any channel. If it receives, what you change in Koalab reaches the store and what someone edits there waits in “Pending approval”. With “Not now”, the channel shows “Role not chosen” and in the meantime receives from Koalab. To bring in its products, go to Products and click “Import”.
What happens from then on
The store reports every product created, edited or deleted, and every order created, paid or cancelled. Sales take stock off on their own. A price or stock changed by hand in the store waits in “Pending approval” if it receives from Koalab, and goes straight in if it leads or is independent. Of the order Koalab only keeps what was sold and how much: not the buyer, their address or the payment.
Details worth knowing
- A sale and a manual edit lower stock the same way. Koalab tells them apart by the order: if there was one for the same product in the previous fifteen minutes, and it wasn't cancelled, the drop is applied as a sale. If not, it's treated as a manual change.
- In Brazil the same platform is called Nuvemshop. It's the same connection: the picker names it “Tiendanube” and covers both.
- Permissions are granted when you authorize. If the app later needs a new one, you'll have to reauthorize so it gets it.
