The WooCommerce plugin

Optional: your store's changes in seconds, with their cause.

The plugin is optional. Without it, WooCommerce's own notices bring your sales and price and stock changes to Koalab within minutes. With it they arrive in seconds, with the cause of each one —by hand, another plugin, your invoicing system, an import—, and the SKU, name, status and weight are noted too. The plugin only reports: it changes nothing in your store. Sales, returns and refunds apply to your stock on their own, and hand edits wait in “Pending approval”. From version 1.3.0 it also reports when a product stops tracking inventory.

  1. Download the plugin

Open Movements with your WooCommerce as the only channel in view (not “All channels”). The notice at the top has “Download plugin”, a .zip file; afterwards it changes to “Download again”, next to “How to connect it”. It is also always in Channels → “Configure” → “Plugin” tab.

  2. Install it and activate it

In WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin → the .zip → Activate. It shows up under WooCommerce → Koalab Sync, and pairing lives in its “Movement sync (optional)” section. It generates no code when you activate it: you provide the code from Koalab.

  3. Connect the plugin to Koalab

One of the two paths is enough. The plugin is in English and calls them Option A and Option B; in Koalab they are “Option A — With a code” and “Option B — From the plugin”. With A: in Channels → “Configure” → “Plugin”, click “Generate code” (it expires in 15 minutes), paste it into the plugin and click “Connect”. With B: click “Open Koalab” and confirm with “Confirm connection”; if the plugin doesn't change on its own, click “Already confirmed? Check now”.

  4. Watch the movements arrive

From then on, every change made in the store shows up in Movements with origin “From the channel”, with its before and its after.

  5. What Koalab does with those changes

A sale, a return or a refund applies to your stock on its own: it already happened. A hand edit goes to “Pending approval”. The price never gets in on its own, not even inside an order. The exception: if your WooCommerce is “This channel leads” or “Independent”, and isn't paused, what you change in the store goes straight in, price included.

  6. If it stops reporting

If you deactivate, delete or disconnect the plugin, from 1.3.0 it tells Koalab itself, and Koalab goes back to listening to WooCommerce's notices: your sales keep arriving, within minutes. If it stops signaling without warning —a day and a half without its daily signal—, Koalab does the same and tells you by email and in the bell. The status, “Connected” or “No signal”, is in Channels → “Configure” → “Plugin”. When it signals again, Koalab uses it again.

Details worth knowing

  • The plugin doesn't write to your store. What Koalab sends to WooCommerce —prices, stock— goes through the connection you made when adding the channel, not through the plugin.
  • Not everything it records goes through Pending approval: SKU, name, status or weight are logged as a movement, but the catalog doesn't hold them waiting for a decision.
